Seafloor Classification & Benthic Mapping
This high-resolution, scalable service deploys machine learning models to generate detailed seafloor maps, providing actionable information on habitat extent, species composition, and health. Often produced and delivered with SDB, this product relies on multispectral satellite imagery and many of the same inputs as the SDB final product. Satellite imagery archives and ongoing collections enable pre- and post- comparisons, historical analysis and ongoing monitoring.

Cost-effective, high-resolution, satellite-derived habitat maps categorize benthic features like coral, seagrass, and mangroves with up to 95% accuracy to monitor environmental shifts and manage blue carbon resources without the need for intensive on-site data collection.
Very high-resolution multispectral satellite imagery sourced from ESA's Sentinel-2 and leading commercial constellations including Vantor, Airbus, and Planet Labs, and hyperspectral imagery from Pixxel
10m, 3m, 2m, and sub-meter models delivered as benthic maps in Esri FileGeodatabase, GeoPackage; satellite imagery RGB (GeoTIFF), Google Earth KMZ project map, benthic map PDF, detailed descriptive survey report
